Antisana Reserve

Full-Day of Birding in the Antisana Ecological Reserve

This tour is your opportunity to see condors, as well as many other fantastic high-altitude bird species of the Antisana paramos and Andean forests. Thanks to the
Antisana, along with a cluster of other Andean-forest protected reserves, high altitude birds such as the Andean condor have recovered population levels. The Antisana volcano lies about 30 miles from Quito within a belt of glacier- covered volcanos in Ecuador’s Cordellera Real mountain chain.

The summit of the Antisana is nearly 19,000 feet high, giving us a day of amazing landscapes and stunning birding. These impressive landscapes shelter a very diverse range of wildlife. Here at the lagoons, such as the Mica lagoon which provides some of Quito’s water supply, water-loving birds abound.
